Al-Akhṭā’ An-Naḥwiyyah Laday Aṭ-Ṭulab Al- Mubtadi-in fī Al-Jāmi’ah Al-Islāmiyyah Al-‘Ālamiyyah Malaysia
Abstract
Syntactic (Naḥw) errors remain a highly debated subject among linguists, a controversy that has persisted without a definitive consensus. Nevertheless, resolving this issue remains imperative, particularly regarding linguistic, logical, and syntactic interventions. The present study addresses this dilemma by analyzing the prevalent syntactic errors that constitute the majority of written inaccuracies. Utilizing a sample of selected papers written by students at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), this research subjects student writing to qualitative analysis. The empirical findings reveal that syntactic discrepancies represent the most frequent errors among Malaysian university students, particularly non-Arabic speaking beginners.
