Naẓariyyāt ‘Ilm al-Lughah al-Ijtimā‘ī fī Ta‘līm al-Muḥādathah
Abstract
Differences in society can be seen from language. It is because language is a means to express civilization, systems, ideologies, intelligence, social levels, arts, cultures, and economy. Language affects society as much as society affects language, and both have constant roles in interaction. Nobody can imagine society without language and vice versa. Therefore, social sciences are extremely influential to language teaching. It is because it belongs to cultural norms and the environment in language which is used in the application of language in individual society uses language to communicate in different environments. Communication helps individuals to understand language awareness. In this case, language rules in communication regulates correct diction in social levels. In relation to language to be used in effective communication, there needs to be language improvements and trainings through teaching. To be more specific, it is in the form of spoken communication between one another. Therefore, muhadatsah teaching and learning activity can be based on sociolinguistic theory through student-student interaction or teacher-student interaction in the teaching realm as well as effective response between students and teacher.
